It all started at school when somebody was playing Electro 2 (hip hop compilation) One listen and I was hooked and from that point onwards I started buying vinyl. Although I didn't have my own decks for sometime, I used to play around mixing and cutting with breaks and beats with friends from school.
My music tastes got more refined when I left school and went to university in London and started getting into jazz / funk and disco. This lead onto early house music with the London club scene available on my door step.
In 1994 I went to Australia and ended up buying my first pair of Technics 1200s decks. From there I got a regular spot at a bar and played on Bondi FM radio station for some time.
I have never made a career out of Djing but love the buzz and excitement that comes when you are in control of the decks and also having a chance to share your music with a crowd. I became a father in 2001 and have since rediscovered my music and Dj'ing again.
I've Dj'd at numerous private parties and bars in London. I love deep soulful house but also like Nu Jazz, disco and funk. These various styles are reflected in the type of music I play. I am currently looking for a residency again which will give me the chance to play the type of music I enjoy. |
