Gamat 3000 'All Seasons'

Review of Gamat 3000 'All Seasons' out 2nd Nov 2001.

Gamat 3000 (Daniel Scholz and Matthias Tanzmann) have been around now for 2 two years producing deep house with a bit of a twist from the average German. This is their first album release and don't be fooled by the location of these lads, this is sweet, deep and sensible housemusic for the masses.

Gamat 3000

Both natives of Germany, from a place called Leipzig to be exact. Their first release on Dessous in 1999 'Permanent Funk' went down a treat, they went on to get involved in deephouse.de and from there to the local and national scene. Matthias Tanzmann is heavily involved in the club scene as well as being respected and much sought after Dj. Daniels Scholz spend his early days remixing for a Swiss pop duo Yello and now spends most of his time in the Gamat 3000 studios in Leipzip and Berlin.

Album Cover'Whispering' (Track 1) and 'SunGlasses & Soda' were released on Dessous earlier this year and last respectively. 'Whispering' was remixed by the likes of Swag (London) and Frankman (FM Recordings, German).
Along with 9 other tracks they make up 'All Seasons'. All seasons is a very apt name, the entire album doesn't give any major felling of the season in which the album falls. Smooth grooves throughout keep you listening. My favourite track has to be 'Into this Lonely Crowd' (Track 2), it's an uplifting smooth vocal, nice filtered stabs & ambient melody with a rolling bass line to keep the momentum going,. Btw you have to hear the vocal. From break beat to solid four to the four to downtempo you can't go wrong. Tracks of note are 'Couch Campaign' , 'Solitare' (An Air / Zero 7 like track), 'Sunglasses and Soda' (Solid compressed beats) & 'Tausend Tropfen'.
There's a funky ring to the album which isn't allowed to dominate by the use of light smooth vocal and soft melodic instruments combining to give a tight sound. I haven't tried it out on the dance floor yet, but am looking forward to hearing it loud and in your face.
All in all we are impressed (so the review).
